Hardshell case — pros and cons
Pros: 360° drop/scratch protection, models with vents available, doesn't add much weight. Cons: traps heat (Pakistani summer issue), some yellowing of clear versions over time.
Brands: MOSISO, Spigen, ESR. PKR 2,000–4,000 range. Avoid PKR 500 unbranded — they yellow within 3 months and warp under heat.
Sleeve case — pros and cons
Pros: ultimate cooling (no heat trap), elegant look, removable for client meetings, scratch-protect when travelling. Cons: no impact protection beyond minor bumps, only protects when not in use.
Brands: TOMTOC, MOSISO, Apple's own polishing-style sleeve. PKR 2,500–8,000 range.
Keyboard cover — yes or no?
Pakistani context (dust + chai spills): YES. The PKR 800–1,500 silicone cover saves you from a PKR 35k+ top-case replacement after one spill.
Genuine Apple-style covers: not made by Apple, but reputable brands match Apple key layout exactly. Check brand reviews before buying.
Downsides: typing feel changes slightly (some users prefer it, others don't). Replace cover every 6 months as it accumulates dirt.
Screen protector — Pakistani dust factor
Most users skip this. MacBook screens have Retina coating that scratches if touched with rings/zips — protector adds a layer of safety.
Tempered glass: PKR 1,500–3,000. Good for travel-heavy users.
Note: don't buy 'privacy filter' generic ones — they tint the colour gamut and ruin display quality.
Pakistan climate considerations
Hardshell users in Lahore summer: take it off when the Mac is in active use indoors. Heat throttle damages chips long-term.
Monsoon: silicone keyboard covers help against accidental water on humid days. Combine with sleeve for in-bag travel protection.
Dust: keyboard covers + screen wipes weekly. Pakistani indoor dust is fine and finds every gap.
AppleForce stocked options
We don't sell accessories directly but routinely recommend: TOMTOC sleeves for travel-heavy users, MOSISO hardshell for students, generic silicone keyboard covers from authorised Apple resellers in Hafeez Centre.
