Mac prices fluctuate predictably in the Pakistani market. Here's when to buy for maximum value.

Apple launch cycle timing (for new Macs)

MacBook Air: typically launches February or March. Best new-buy window: 2–3 months post-launch (April–June) when stock + reviews + bundle deals stabilise.

MacBook Pro: typically launches October–November. Best window: November–January.

Mac mini: every 18–24 months. Best window: 3 months post-launch.

iMac: every 18–24 months. Same as Mac mini.

When to wait vs when to buy

Just before next-gen launch (1–2 months before): don't buy new at full price. Wait or buy used.

Just after next-gen launch: previous gen drops 10–20% in Pakistani used market. Good buying window for value-seekers.

Middle of product cycle (6–12 months in): full price but most stable inventory. Buy if you need now.

    Used Mac market dynamics

End of academic year (April–May): used Macs flood market as students upgrade or sell. Best prices for buyers.

Start of academic year (August–September): used Mac prices spike 10–15% as students/parents buy. Worst time for buyers.

Ramadan + Eid: light price drop on used market (~5–8%) as some sellers liquidate for cash.

Year-end (December): mixed — some Eid-style cash demand drops, others hold for January students.

Best months to buy new Mac in Pakistan

April–May: end of student season demand, before summer prices.

    November–January: post-Pro-launch deals + some year-end clearance from resellers.

    Avoid: July–September (back-to-school demand peak).

Best months to buy used Mac in Pakistan

May–June: students offloading. Best variety + prices.

Late December–January: cash-demand seasonal drop. Some good deals.

    Avoid: August–September (student-buyer demand peak).

    Currency factors

PKR/USD: weaker PKR = higher import prices. Watch INR/USD trend — if PKR is weakening, buy now. If PKR strengthening, wait 1–2 months.

Pakistani retail Mac prices respond to currency with 2–4 week lag. Used market: 6–8 week lag.

    Bundle + discount opportunities

iCity, Sharaf DG, Apple authorised: occasional bundle deals (free AppleCare, free accessories worth PKR 10k–25k). Watch their socials.

AppleForce: bundle deals on used Mac + AppleCare-style warranty + accessories. Often around academic seasons.

Year-end Black Friday / Cyber Monday: limited in Pakistan, but some online resellers offer 5–10% off.

    Should you wait for next-gen?

If current Mac meets your needs and you can wait: yes, wait for next-gen.

If you need a Mac now: buy current gen. Don't pay 'wait premium' for unproven future model. Apple's leaps year-to-year are usually 15–25% — meaningful but not transformative.
