Hafeez Centre — Lahore's traditional electronics market
Hafeez Centre on Main Boulevard, Gulberg III, has been Lahore's electronics hub since the 1990s. Hundreds of small shops compete on price, parts are easy to find, and bargaining is standard.
What you save: 10–20% on simple parts (chargers, cables, basic batteries) compared to Gulberg specialist shops. What you risk: counterfeit parts mixed with genuine, no formal warranties, no written documentation, hit-or-miss technical skill.
Gulberg III specialist workshops (like ours)
Shops like AppleForce in LG31, IT Tower (5 minutes from Hafeez Centre) specialise specifically in Apple Mac repair. Workshop benches with microscopes, calibrated tools, board schematics. Genuine parts only, written quotes, 90-day warranties.
What you pay: 10–20% more on commodity parts. What you get: proper diagnosis, board-level capability, written warranty, photographed before/after, and someone who'll still be in business if something goes wrong in 6 months.
Which is right for which job
Simple commodity buy (Apple charger, USB-C cable, fresh keyboard cap, generic SSD): Hafeez Centre is fine if you know exactly what you want and can verify it's genuine.
Anything diagnostic (Mac won't turn on, screen issues, battery problems): Gulberg specialist. Hafeez Centre shops will often misdiagnose to upsell parts.
Board-level repair, water damage, logic board work: Gulberg specialist only. Hafeez Centre shops generally don't have the microscope + hot-air station + board schematics needed.
Used MacBook purchase: Gulberg specialist with written warranty + 7-day money back. Hafeez Centre 'as-is' deals have zero recourse if the Mac dies.
Red flags in either location
Cash-only with no receipt. Refusal to give the warranty in writing. 'We'll see when we open it' for diagnosis cost. Anyone reluctant to let you watch the work. Aftermarket parts presented as 'genuine Apple.' These exist in both Hafeez Centre and some Gulberg shops — be alert.
