1. Single vertical line on display ('flexgate-lite')
The Air M1 doesn't have classic flexgate (that's a 2016–2017 Pro issue), but a small number of 2020-batch A2337s develop a single thin vertical line after 3+ years. Cause is panel-side, not cable.
Fix: full display assembly replacement, PKR 22,000–28,000 fitted at our Lahore bench. Same-day if the panel is in stock.
2. Battery health dropping below 80% at year 3
M1 Airs sold in Pakistan 2020–2021 are now hitting 800–1000 cycles. Most are still usable but capacity has dropped meaningfully. Check via About This Mac → System Report → Power.
Genuine battery swap: PKR 12,000–15,000 with calibrated BMS. Same-day fitting. After replacement you'll get another 4–5 years of comfortable life.
3. SSD storage soldered = no upgrade path
256GB base spec is tight in 2026. macOS Sequoia/Tahoe + Office + a Photos library easily fills it. Unlike Intel-era Macs, the SSD is soldered to the logic board — can't be upgraded.
Solutions: external Thunderbolt SSD (PKR 15,000–25,000 for 1TB), iCloud Drive sync to offload Desktop/Documents, or trade-in toward a 512GB model.
4. USB-C port wear on heavily-used units
The Air M1 has only 2 USB-C ports. Daily plug/unplug over 4–5 years can loosen the connector. Symptom: charger has to be wiggled to charge.
Fix: USB-C port replacement (board-level), PKR 6,000–10,000. Same-day at the workshop.
