Screens: brightness, colour gamut, True Tone
Genuine: 500–600 nit brightness, P3 colour gamut, True Tone calibration data embedded in the panel's EEPROM. Aftermarket: typically 350–450 nit, sRGB only, no True Tone (screen tints don't shift with ambient light).
Touch Bar models: aftermarket Touch Bars often have flicker issues or coloured streaks within 3–6 months. We don't fit them — period.
Batteries: cycle life, BMS handshake, safety
Genuine: 1000 cycles to 80% health, proper BMS pairing so battery health % reads correctly in System Information. Pakistani-market aftermarket: typically 400–600 cycles, BMS often shows 'service battery' warning after 6 months.
Critical safety note: cheap aftermarket batteries from Hafeez Centre have caused multiple swelling and fire incidents. The lithium cell quality is the difference between safe and dangerous.
Keyboards (top-cases): pairing + Touch ID
Touch ID-equipped Macs (most 2018+) require pairing between top-case and Secure Enclave. Aftermarket top-cases break Touch ID — fingerprint unlock stops working permanently. Apple Pay biometric auth also breaks.
Logic-board-level components
ICs, capacitors, resistors — at the chip level we source from same-grade industrial suppliers as Apple's manufacturing partners. This is the one area where 'aftermarket' is normal because Apple doesn't sell individual chips.
Caveat: cheap shops use pulled-from-scrap components which have unknown wear. We use new-old-stock or new-new components only.
AppleForce policy in 2026
Screens, batteries, keyboards, trackpads, top-cases, speakers: genuine Apple-spec parts only. We won't fit aftermarket even if the customer asks — the failure rates aren't acceptable.
Chip-level rework (capacitors, resistors, fuses): industrial-grade new components, traceable to suppliers.
