What ports your MacBook is missing
M1/M2 Air, M1/M2/M3 Pro 13": 2× USB-C/Thunderbolt only, MagSafe 3 on M2+. No USB-A, no HDMI, no SD card slot.
Pro 14"/16" M-series: 3× Thunderbolt 4, MagSafe 3, HDMI, SD card. Less hub-dependent but USB-A still missing.
Daily missing ports for most users: USB-A (for older drives + accessories), HDMI (for projectors/monitors), SD card (for cameras).
Budget tier (PKR 2,500–6,000)
UGREEN 7-in-1: HDMI + 3× USB-A + USB-C PD + SD + microSD. Compact, plug-in style. PKR 4,500–5,500. Best value for most users.
Baseus 6-in-1: similar features. PKR 3,500–4,500. Build quality slightly less than UGREEN but functional.
Mid tier (PKR 7,000–14,000)
Anker 555 8-in-1 USB-C Hub: HDMI 4K @ 60Hz, ethernet, 100W PD pass-through, SD/microSD, USB-A 3.0. PKR 11,000–13,000. Reliable brand, good for daily docking.
Hyperdrive 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: form factor that clips onto MacBook side. PKR 12,000–14,000.
Premium tier (PKR 15,000+)
Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter: HDMI + USB-A + USB-C PD. PKR 17,000. Limited ports for the price but Apple build quality.
CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt Dock: full docking station with 18 ports, 98W charging. PKR 95,000+. Studio/desk setup tier.
What to avoid
PKR 1,000–2,000 'no-name' hubs from Daraz: heat up, drop connection, sometimes damage USB controllers. Not worth saving PKR 3,000.
Hubs without USB-C PD pass-through: you can't charge your Mac while using the hub. Major workflow issue.
Hubs claiming 'Thunderbolt' without certification: real Thunderbolt requires Intel certification. Faked claims = USB-C speeds at Thunderbolt prices.
