1. Speaker rattle at high volume
Some M2 Airs (early-2022 production) develop a buzzing rattle from the right speaker grille above ~70% volume. The driver itself is fine; the rattle is the speaker housing resonating.
Fix: speaker assembly replacement (genuine Apple stereo unit), PKR 12,000–18,000. We always replace as a stereo pair so audio balance stays correct.
2. Cracked glass from thin chassis impact
The redesigned Air is thinner and the display glass is more vulnerable than the M1. A close-the-lid-with-pen scenario cracks the glass even without dropping. Apple's design doesn't allow glass-only repair; full assembly required.
Fix: full display assembly with True Tone calibration, PKR 28,000–35,000. Same-day at our Lahore bench.
3. MagSafe alignment after 2+ years
MagSafe magnet weakens slightly on heavily-used units. Charger no longer 'snaps' firmly — it sits but disconnects from light bumps.
Fix: MagSafe port assembly replacement, PKR 4,000–8,000. Quick same-day job.
4. Sustained workload throttling
Like the M1 Air, the M2 is fanless and throttles under 10+ minute sustained loads. Not a fault — design tradeoff. If you regularly hit this, the Pro 14" M2/M3 is the right machine.
