Battery: 90%+ health. Cycle count under 300.
All functions perfectly working: keyboard, trackpad, all ports, speakers, microphone, camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, Touch ID.
Original charger included. Original box ideal but not required.
Trade-in offer: 75–85% of fair market value.
Grade B — Good (most common)
Light cosmetic wear: visible micro-scratches on top + bottom. Minor edge dings acceptable.
Battery: 80–90% health. Cycle count 300–700.
All major functions work. Minor issues acceptable (slightly less responsive Touch ID, minor speaker imperfection).
Charger included (Apple original or quality third-party).
Trade-in offer: 55–70% of fair market value.
Grade C — Fair (still tradeable)
Heavy cosmetic wear: scuffs on top, palm wear visible, scratches on screen, dents on edges.
Battery: 70–80% health OR battery service needed.
1–2 minor functional issues: one trackpad area unresponsive, one port worn, single speaker degraded.
May not have charger.
Trade-in offer: 35–50% of fair market value.
Grade D — For parts only
Major functional failures: screen damage, won't boot, swollen battery, water damage history.
Multiple cosmetic issues.
No charger.
Trade-in offer: 15–30% of fair market value (essentially salvage parts pricing).
Specific factors that hurt your grade
Visible screen damage (cracks, dead pixels): drops grade by 2 levels.
Activation Lock not removed: blocks trade-in entirely. Must unlock before quote.
Battery requiring service warning: drops grade by 1 level.
Liquid damage history: drops grade by 2 levels (even if 'working fine now').
Aftermarket parts already fitted: drops grade by 1 level + may invalidate Apple warranty paths.
How to maximise your trade-in offer
Get genuine repair done before trade-in if cost-effective. PKR 25k battery replacement might add PKR 35k to trade-in value.
Clean Mac thoroughly. Wipe screen, keyboard, ports, body.
Include original charger if available. Worth PKR 3k–8k extra in offer.
Bring original purchase receipt + warranty papers. Worth PKR 2k–5k extra.
Be honest about issues. Hidden issues discovered during inspection = quote drops on the spot.
